This policy covers the website sleipnirgrade.app and the Sleipnir Grade apps for iPhone and Android. Both are local-first: what you grade stays on your device.

What this website stores
Graded records, drafts and your settings (appearance, interface language, listing languages) are stored only in this browser (IndexedDB and local storage). They are not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting them in the app, clearing the site data in your browser or using another browser removes or hides them.
Cookies
One functional cookie, sleipnir_lang, remembers your chosen interface language so the page can be delivered in that language. It is not used for tracking and is not required: with “Auto”, the browser language is used instead.
Tracking and third parties
There is no analytics, advertising, user account, cloud synchronisation or embedded third-party service. The App Store and Google Play badges are plain links; the stores’ own privacy policies apply once you follow them.
Hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel (Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA). To deliver the pages and keep the service secure, Vercel processes the technical connection data your browser sends with each request, such as your IP address, the requested address, the time of access and your browser type, in server logs for a limited period. This is our legitimate interest in operating the site reliably (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Vercel may process this data in the United States under its data processing agreement, which includes the EU standard contractual clauses.
The Sleipnir Grade apps
The apps “Sleipnir Grade” for iPhone (App Store) and Android (Google Play) are published by the same controller. They work without an account, a server or an internet connection.
What the apps process
Data you enter in the grading wizard: artist, title, the condition of cover, vinyl, inner sleeves and extras, and any free-text notes (for example matrix notes or comments about defects). Grading data: the calculated grading suggestions (for example “Media: VG+”, “Sleeve: VG”) and the generated description texts. Drafts and your settings (appearance, languages). All of it is stored only on your device.
Purposes and legal bases
We process this data to provide the functions of the apps: the step-by-step grading workflow, storing and managing your graded records locally on your device, and the optional export functions (text, CSV, JSON, Markdown). The legal bases are Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of a contract), where the processing is necessary to provide the features you request, and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interests) in providing and improving a practical grading tool; we balance that interest against your rights and freedoms. We do not use data from Sleipnir Grade for marketing profiles, personalised advertising or resale.
Disclosure to third parties
We do not store your content on our own servers and we do not send it anywhere. An export is created only when you choose to and is handed to the sharing or file function of your device; the app or service you pick there processes the file under its own terms. The apps are distributed through the App Store and Google Play: Apple and Google process the download, purchase and, where you have enabled it in your device settings, diagnostic data under their own privacy policies.
Storage period
The data you store in the apps (grades, notes, drafts) remains on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app; on uninstall the operating system removes the local data. We store nothing. There are no central user accounts and no cloud storage for Sleipnir Grade.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, subject to the legal requirements. Because neither the website nor the apps transmit your data to us, there is normally nothing on our systems to act on. If you believe we process personal data about you in connection with Sleipnir Grade, write to kontakt@niflheimrecords.de.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), which is competent for our seat.
Status: October 2026. This page is the privacy policy for the Sleipnir Grade website and apps.
