- BookletMulti‑page insert or booklet; note wear lightly.
- Box wearWear to outer box for box sets, including corner crush.
- Dog‑earedBent or creased jacket corner(s). Multiple or strong creases push grade down.
- Edge / Corner wearRubbing on the edges or rounded corners. Light: rubbed with the printed ink intact. Heavy: ink gone, white board or fibres showing.
- HairlinesVery fine, shallow lines on the surface, usually from paper sleeves or handling. Mostly cosmetic and lighter than real scratches.
- Inner sleeve damageTears, splits, or discoloration on paper/plastic inner.
- Label wearMarks, fading, or spindle trails on the center label.
- OBIJapanese belly band. If present, note general condition.
- Original vs generic innerOriginal printed inner vs plain generic. Note splits/wrinkles.
- Poster / InsertInclude if present; mention condition briefly if needed.
- Ring wearCircular rub mark on the jacket from the disc inside. Light: only visible when tilted to the light. Heavy: visible flat-on, with the gloss broken.
- ScratchDeeper mark that cuts into the groove. Can click, pop, or even skip if it is feelable.
- ScuffLight, cloudy surface rubs, often from sleeves. Usually minimal sound impact.
- Seam splitOpen edge on spine, top, or bottom. Any split usually caps at VG; long (≥5 cm) can be G+.
- Spine wearWear to the text on the spine. Light: still fully readable. Heavy: cracked, faded or missing.
- Sticker residue / writingGlue patches or pen/marker on jacket; reduces sleeve grade.
- WarpRecord not flat. Minor: a visible wobble the stylus still tracks. Major: the tonearm lifts or it mistracks.
